After 18 years, latterly as CEO, James Turner will be leaving the Sutton Trust to take up a new role as the first CEO of the Hg Foundation.
Sir Peter Lampl, Founder and Executive Chairman of the Trust, said:
“James has been an outstanding colleague for eighteen years, working across the Trust in research, policy and programmes and of course since 2019 as Chief Executive. He has made a terrific contribution to the Trust, including being instrumental in our bid to set up the EEF. I’m personally hugely indebted to James who has contributed so much. We wish him well in his new role.”
James Turner said:
“It has been the privilege of my professional life to have worked at the Trust, starting off in 2004 when there were just 4 of us, through to now, as CEO with a team of nearly 40 and a reach of 8,000 young people and with many policy and research successes under our belt. I’ve been lucky enough to work with many great colleagues over that time – especially of course Sir Peter, to whom I owe a huge amount, and the current team, who are exceptional. It will be a big wrench to let go of an organisation that has been with me during all the important events of my adult life. But I am sure the Trust will go from strength to strength.”
James will be at the Trust until mid-August. A search is underway for the new CEO, details here: Perrett Laver: Chief Executive
