The Sutton Trust has appointed Katy Hampshire as its new Director of Programmes.
Katy joins the Sutton Trust with a wealth of experience in the not-for-profit sector, most recently serving as Director of Operations and Programmes at Education and Employers since 2016. She supported the charity’s flagship service, Inspiring the Future, to help broaden young people’s horizons by connecting them to volunteers from the world of work.
Katy has also led programme delivery of the International Citizen Service at VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) and, as a chartered accountant, she has a decade of experience working at leading financial institutions such as EY, FTI Consulting, and HSBC.
The Sutton Trust’s programmes support young people from less advantaged backgrounds to access leading universities and careers. In partnership with universities and employers, it runs free programmes that give students practical advice and leave them feeling inspired and more confident about their future.
Doug Thomson, a Director of the Sutton Trust, said:
“Katy brings a very impressive track record and we are delighted that she’s joining the Sutton Trust. Our programmes have been transformative for thousands of young people since our inception in 1997, and I am excited to see them go from strength to strength under Katy’s leadership.”
Katy Hampshire said:
“I’m passionate about empowering young people to achieve their potential regardless of background and have seen the amazing work of the Sutton Trust in championing social mobility. I look forward to working with the team, our range of partners, corporates and universities in continuing this work and creating new opportunities for young people.”
