Application timeline

The key stages of the process

Applications Open - 1st September

Choose your programme and apply

Students can apply by submitting an online form that will ask for details on their academic profile and background. This will also include a statement of motivation.

Applications Close

This varies programme to programme

Check each programme for the deadline and make sure to submit in good time. Late submissions and edits will not be able to be made after then.

Keep an eye on emails

This may take a few weeks

Students will hear from their university or the Trust within a couple of weeks of applications closing to confirm whether they have a place.

Have you been nominated?

To apply to a Pathways Programme, each student must complete and submit the application form and nominate a teacher to verify their application. Upon submitting the application, a request will be emailed to the nominated teacher. The email will ask the teacher to verify the following details to the best of their knowledge:

  • Grades (past and current qualifications)
  • Whether the student has ever been eligible for free school meals
  • Whether the student would be in the first generation in their family to attend university
  • Whether the student is or has ever been in care
  • Whether the student has received the 16-18 bursary

This form can be completed by any teacher, current or past, who is able to verify the student’s background.

"I first heard about LSE's pathways to banking and finance programme through my school...The first year of the programme has benefited me greatly as I have learnt skills that are essential for a job in the financial sector, such as CV writing, networking, presenting and assessment centre skills...Overall, the pathways programme has been very enjoyable and I recommend it to everyone who is interested in finance."
